A Phenomenon Not Seen In The Last Century In Lebanon – A Large Number Of Migratory Butterflies Have Invaded The Meadows After The Torrential Rains In The Middle East

« The last time such a migration took place dates back to 1917, » said Magda Bou Dagher Kharrat, a plant science professor at the University of St Joseph in Lebanon.
The large number of Vanessa Cardui butterflies that traveled from Africa to northern Europe caused astonishment when millions of insects crossed mountains, fields, villages and towns.
« They did not just pass through wild areas, forests … so those who do not usually go out in nature could see this migration, » said Bou Dagher Kharrat.
